He has attended numerous upper cervical seminars, (in Australia & the USA) in order to specialise and obtain his added qualification needed to become an Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor. What does this mean? Atlas is the top Vertebrae of the Spine and supports the head. The Atlas Orthogonal Program was developed with specificity in mind. An Atlas Orthogonal Doctor of Chiropractic uses special X-ray views to determine the extent and direction of spinal misalignment. Information from the X-rays determines how the Doctor The actual adjustment is performed by an Atlas Orthogonal Percussion Adjusting Instrument. The instrument works by percussion - a sound wave - and the bone is gently restored to its' normal position.
In the examples at upper right, a normal Atlas is aligned squarely with both the Spine and Skull. A misaligned or subluxated Atlas is not square. The upper left example clearly depicts the effects of a subluxated Atlas on the entire Skeletal frame. The resulting stress and discomfort may be felt far from the source of the real fault; this sometimes makes an accurate medical diagnosis difficult.
